Married at First Sight UK alum Jenna Robinson has spoken of her “anger” following her former co-star Thomas Hartley 's "sickening" comments made on a podcast recently.
Thomas, 31, made remarks - including a 'joke' about Jenna's late father - during an appearance on a recent episode of a podcast.
He has since apologised for any offence caused by the interview and said that he takes "full responsibility" for his behaviour but last night said he would report “threatening” followers to police just hours after saying he will “live to regret” the “sickening” podcast comments.
Thomas, who was coupled up with Adrian Sanderson on the latest season of Married At First Sight UK appeared on the What’s Happenin’ podcast where he appeared to joke about Jenna’s dad, who died during Covid-19 pandemic meaning he couldn’t walk her down the aisle.
Jenna has been largely quiet after the comments but today broke her silence to tell fans of her anger over the awful situation.
She took to her Instagram Story to reassure fans that she is “OK” but has “needed time to process what had happened and what had been said on that podcast”.
“I know I’ve been really quiet over the last few days,” Jenna said to the camera.
The telly star then opened up, revealing: “I’ve been really upset about it and hurt and angry about it.”
Explaining her choice to stay silent, she said: “I didn’t want to say anything in the moment that I would regret and I just needed to kind of sit with it for a bit.
“I kind of figured I’ve got two options. I can either speak on it or I can ignore it and just let it go away. But at the same time I don’t want to let these people get away with it and be able to do that to someone else in the future.”
She signed off saying: “I don’t think these people deserve any kind of platform. So when I’m ready, I will speak on it.”
She went on to say she was trying to have a “positive” day and try to “ignore all the drama that surrounds us all the time”.
Jenna's father is understood to have passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic, which meant that he wasn't in attendance at her wedding on the E4 reality series.
Thomas has said he's received deaths threats from people on social media over the situation, with him saying in a post: "It's safe to say I've had some very dark thoughts."
He said he will take a break from social media for a few days and added that he "can't eat" and "can't sleep" due to the reaction. He further commented: "This is really bad."
Last night he turned off his messages on Instagram to stop people contacting him after the backlash got too intense.
