Frustrated neighbours living next to a ‘Fast and Furious’ car meeting spot said they have had enough. A community in Bulwell is struggling to sleep at night as large groups meet up at an industrial estate to show off their car tricks.
The problem at the Blenheim industrial estate has been pushing residents on Sellers Road to the edge, with retired Peter Smith saying: “They gather to make doughnuts, and wheelies and whatever they do. It is noisy, and I am pretty sure that it is illegal.”
The 76-year-old added: “I do not live that far away so I can hear them. They are just idiots who want to show off essentially. It is crazy.”

Anthony Rainbow, a retired resident, 71, added: “I remember there was a big car meeting once there were cars from one end of the road to another - like 70 cars. You simply cannot open the window at night because of the noise.”
The speeding and noise usually occur after 9pm, according to residents. Mr Rainbow added: “People are speeding down here at 70 miles an hour. Speeding around the corner, firing their engines - they think they are in Fast and Furious.
“It is not safe. I am not one for moaning but it is getting ridiculous now.”
Jane Millar, a caterer in the area, 59, added: “It is a rough area for sure. There is a lot of traffic and speeding at night, after 9pm.”
In response to their concerns, officers have run patrols in the area to ensure safety. In a statement, Nottinghamshire Police said: “Just to make you all aware we have been proactively patrolling the area of Blenheim industrial estate the last two nights. This has been due to car meets that happen in that area.
“There haven’t been any the last two nights and so we will be actively patrolling that area again tonight as well. Just to make you aware we have access to a speed gun, a trained officer and we have plenty of ticket books.”
