Angela Scanlon reportedly signs up for major BBC show

TV presenter Angela Scanlon has reportedly signed up for Strictly Come Dancing.

The Co Meath star, who currently hosts BBC2's Your House Made Perfect, is rumoured to be amongst the first batch of celebrities signed up for the BBC show, which is hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

Sources at the BBC told Mail Online that they are thrilled to have secured her to their line up, adding that they expect her to be an early contender to go far in the competition.

One source said: “It is hard to get the mix right for Strictly every year but producers think that Angela is perfect for it.

“She is really popular with the BBC's viewers but unlike so many celebrities she doesn't have a dancing background so Strictly fans will be able to go on a really enjoyable journey with her.

“Every year the producers like to have a glamourous yet wholesome TV presenter as the fans love them.”

Other celebrities that have been tipped to appear on this year's Strictly are Bobby Brazier, the actor son of the late reality star Jade Goody and Adam Thomas who appears in BBC drama Waterloo Road.

Angela has hosted her own Saturday night chat show for RTE since 2020.

As well as her own RTE chat show, the flame haired beauty also hosts Sunday night show Your House Made Perfect, the mother of two is also a successful podcaster.

She also hosts her own, Thanks A Million.

Angela also recently told of her 15-year struggle with an eating disorder in her autobiography Joyrider, where she revealed her mental health struggles and how she went on to undergo therapy.

She wrote: “I managed to paint a decent picture and life looked good, I got the big entertainment TV job, I had a hair ad, I did all the glossy red-carpet things and I was more miserable than I have ever been in my life.

“I have lived for many years split in two: my outside face beaming and smiling, relentlessly positive; inside in turmoil.”
