Angel’s hit movie Sound Of Freedom is continuing to add screens this weekend, representing the fourth consecutive weekend in which the film is adding additional screens. Sound Of Freedom enters its fourth weekend screening in 3,411 theaters, and is crossing the total booking threshold of over 4,000 screens and topping $130M in box office revenue.

“Everyone in the industry knows that films are generally supposed to lose screens week-over-week, not add them. And yet, the incredible word-of-mouth driving Sound Of Freedom continues to spread. In response, we are continuing to expand our offering in theaters this weekend,” said Brandon Purdie, Angel Studios Head of Theatrical. “Our theatrical partners have stepped up in a huge way to allow for more people to see the film.”

SOUND OF FREEDOM Theater Counts by Week:

  • July 3: 2,634
  • July 7: 2,852
  • July 14: 3,265
  • July 21: 3,285
  • July 28: 3,411

Starring Jim Caviezel (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST), Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino (THE FINAL CUT, “Psych,” AFTER EVER HAPPY), Bill Camp (12 YEARS A SLAVE, “The Queen’s Gambit,” JOKER), José Zúñiga (TWILIGHT, “Madam Secretary,” “American Crime Story”), Eduardo Verástegui (UNPLANNED, SON OF GOD, PAUL BLART: MALL COP 2), who is also a producer, and written and directed by Alejandro Monteverde (Toronto winner “Bella” and “Little Boy”).

Sound Of Freedom, based on the incredible true story, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.

“Throughout our fourth weekend, audiences have continued to show up and support Sound Of Freedom, and our theatrical partners have given us ample real estate to meet that continued demand.” said Purdie. “We now know that this incredible film is going to surpass the $150 million mark domestically, and we’re strongly positioned to go well past that.”

Sound Of Freedom grossed in $12,000,000 in the box office in the film’s third weekend.

The film has become one of the most talked about features in the summer along with films in the box office, such as Barbie and Oppenheimer.
