Angel Reese Had Classy Message About College Rivals After WNBA Draft

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark | Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Angel Reese attended the 2024 WNBA draft in New York City earlier this week, and her professional basketball dreams were realized. The former LSU star was selected with the seventh pick by the Chicago Sky. Reese will team up with the third pick, Kamilla Cardoso, and the 13th pick, Brynna Maxwell, to bring a new era of women's basketball to the Windy City under first-year head coach Teresa Weatherspoon.

Reese's big personality made a lot of headlines at the draft itself. She clearly had a great time and expressed her desire to join the broadcasting ranks after her playing days are over. On Wednesday night, Reese made it known her favorite part of the draft experience was getting to know her old rivals better.

Reese's rivalry with Caitlin Clark is stuff of legend at this point, so the former Iowa superstar is definitely included in the above sentiment. The message is also a good bit of early teamwork. Reese had a few fierce battles with Cardoso, the former South Carolina center, and will now suit up alongside her in Chicago. Can never get started too early building those relationships up.

Reese's career in the pros is going to be a lot of fun to watch. Her distribution skills in the post are often highlight reel-worthy and her big personality should play well in Chicago. It certianly feels like she's just getting started.
