A report claims Ange Postecoglou is hell–bent on leading Celtic on a Euro adventure next season amid swirling interest from Tottenham.
Record Sport understands the Premier League big boys are readying a move for the 57-year-old who is adamant his sole focus is delivering the Premiership champions a Treble. And now the Mail on Sunday state Postecoglou is keen for one more crack at the Champions League with Celtic and to lead them to the last 16 – something they insist is the Greek-Australian's "ultimate ambition" in Glasgow's east end.
Postecoglou has been linked with a raft of Premier League jobs due to his trophy-laden work with the Hoops. It's accepted Tottenham are a level above previous suitors as Daniel Levy seeks his next boss to right a ship which Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte escaped from in recent years. It's understood Sporting boss Ruben Amorim and Luis Enrique are also contenders. Tottenham are also believed to be admirers of former Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
Celtic supporters adore Postecoglou for his stylish brand of football which has led to four trophies and the record goal tally in an individual Scottish top flight season. The former Australia national team boss was keen to bat away any talk of his long–term future. He said: "I've been pretty straightforward (about the rumours), there's nothing cryptic in my messages. We've got one game to go. I'm not talking about next year until we win next week. That's our goal, we've got to win this cup."
"I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to do something special, to win a Treble. I know people have done it and greater things but I'm not going to look past that. I really want us to finish strong. It's not going to be an easy game, it's a cup final. We're determined to get it done."
