Ange's inspiring Celtic job opens European door for A League ally as he chuckles over using Parkhead boss for help

He has worked with Ange Postecoglou before - and now an Australian ally of the Celtic boss will point to him on the CV as he embarks on his own journey.

Ufuk Talay has called time on his stint in charge of A-League side Wellington Phoenix in search of an opportunity in Asia or Europe. Postecoglou has won the Premiership and League Cup since coming to Glasgow and competed in the Champions League group stage, with his Yokohama F. Marinos successor Kevin Muscat also coming from the land Down Under.

Talay was in an Australian youth coach when the Celtic boss was in charge of the Socceroos and will point to his name on his CV when pitching his services abroad, with his ally a big reason for doors opening in the Aussie coaching world. He laughed when telling Keep Up: “There’s ways for them to be able to help … Ange is on my CV, just let you know!

“I can’t predict where I’ll end up, the aim is to try to get an overseas job, either in Asia or in Europe. Will that come to fruition? I don’t know, If I don’t get a job overseas, I need a job somewhere.

“It’s fantastic to see that they’re doing well because if our Australian coaches are doing well that possibly opens doors for us. I know Musky quite well and I worked with Ange when we worked on the national team.

"A very inspirational figure and a very good coach at the same time."
