Ange Postecoglou should "seriously consider" the Spurs job - but has one major danger to consider if he does take it.
That's the view of former Australia star Robbie Slater, who also feels the North London club's new Australian CFO could swing the tide in the Celtic boss' favour. Postecoglou is being lined up as a top target for Spurs who were recently knocked back by Feyenoord's Arne Slot. The Greek-Aussie is on the brink of a Treble and his quickfire turnaround at Parkhead has turned plenty of heads down south.
There are others in the running including ex-Spain boss Luis Enrique, former Bayern Munich gaffer Julian Nagelsmann and Sporting’s Ruben Amorin. As yet it's unclear if Spurs will make their approach as Ryan Mason has the job in the interim. But Slater, who won the Premier League with Blackburn and played 44 times for Australia, feels it's an opportunity he should consider if offered it.
Slater said: “Munn being there certainly isn’t going to do Ange any harm. Ange is definitely going to have to seriously consider this job if it’s offered to him. He'll have the chance to work with world-class players, the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min."
Postecoglou's impact at Celtic has been undeniable especially when you consider how it started. After three defeats in their first six games under him, there were serious doubts early on. And while he has blown all the detractors away, Slater feels a similarly slow start at Spurs could be costly. He added: "The danger is that if he has a slow start, it could cost him his job.”
