Ange Postecoglou is poised to become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
And it seems he will likely be joined by his trusted No.2 John Kennedy.
The Scottish Sun reports that the 57-year-old wants his current assistant manager at Celtic to join him in his new venture at Spurs.
The Australian is believed to have made his feelings clear regarding the vacant Premier League job.
It's said that he told majority shareholder, Dermot Desmond, on Saturday night that he wanted to take the dream opportunity.
That came in the aftermath of the Aussie guiding Celtic to a historic eighth treble, as well as securing his fifth trophy from six during his two years in Scotland.
It's now expected that Spurs chief Daniel Levy will announce Postecoglou as the permanent successor to Antonio Conte over the next 72 hours.
The manager will be signed on a lucrative contract, with bonus incentives to transform the north London outfit in the way he turned Celtic around.
He ultimately wants Kennedy to move to the EPL with him, though.
Usually, Postecoglou would be happy to move on jobs himself and judge his current backroom staff when there.
But it seems he is determined to take Kennedy, who has been at Celtic for over 25 years, with him.
In addition, fellow backroom staff members such as Gavin Strachan and another first-team video analyst are expected to follow.
Last week, Postecoglou was full in his praise of Kennedy.
He said: “John plays a vital role. I give him a lot of responsibility. He’s got a lot of experience at this football club, part of a lot of success.
“That isn’t by accident. It’s not surprising people are looking at him.
“And when the time is right he will make an outstanding manager.”
Hearts are believed to be big admirers of the No.2, as they consider their prime target for their manager position.
They would ultimately have to pay a six-figure compensation fee to release him from his contract at Celtic.
But while Kennedy is keen to go it alone one day with football management, it's thought sticking with Postecoglou is his preferred option at this moment in time, with Spurs a more exciting proposition.
