Ange Postecoglou Tottenham backroom team named as ex-Celtic man joins his ranks in North London

Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham backroom team has now been confirmed with former Celtic man Chris Davies joining his ranks.

The 57-year-old made the move to North London for a crack at the English Premier League after two seasons in Glasgow and wanted to take No2 John Kennedy with him south of the border but Brendan Rodgers' arrival back at the club convinced the long-serving coach to stay put after a strong bond during his first stint.

That has meant another former Hoops man in the shape of Davies hooks up with Ange as his new senior assistant coach with Ryan Mason named assistant coach alongside Matt Wells while Mile Jedinak - a former skipper of the Australia national team under the ex-Celtic gaffer - also joining the ranks in an assistant coach position following a spell at Aston Villa.

A club statement read: "Following the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as our new Head Coach, we can now confirm Ange’s team of coaching staff.

"We are delighted to welcome Chris Davies and Mile Jedinak to the Club, and Rob Burch back to the Club, to join up with Ryan Mason and Matt Wells.

"Chris, who has previously worked on the coaching staff at Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City, joins as Senior Assistant Coach.

"Ryan Mason has been appointed Assistant Coach, along with our former Academy player and coach Matt Wells, who worked alongside Ryan during his spell in interim charge at the end of last season.

"Mile, a former captain of the Australia national team under Ange, also joins the coaching staff as Assistant Coach following a spell as a youth coach and Loan Development Coach at Aston Villa. He previously played in the Premier League for both Villa and Crystal Palace.

"A product of our youth set-up and former goalkeeper with us in the early-2000s, Rob returns to the Club as First Team Goalkeeping Coach, having previously served as Academy Goalkeeping Coach until 2019. He has since held coaching roles with the Football Association, Fulham, AFC Bournemouth and Club Brugge.

"Our new team of coaching staff will begin work alongside Ange on 1 July."
