Ange Postecoglou tops off Celtic debut campaign success with PFA Manager of the Year award

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been named the PFA Manager of the Year after an impressive debut campaign at Celtic Park.

The Australian has led Celtic to the Premier Sports Cup and stands on the brink of winning the Premiership title after a draw with Rangers.

The 56-year-old arrived in Scotland as a relative unknown after three years in charge of Japanese club Yokohama F. Marinos.

When the Australian took over the club they were recovering from finish 25 points behind Rangers last season after a disastrous campaign.

However, the Celtic boss has rebuilt the side unearthing the likes J-League talents including Kyogo, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.

Malky Mackay, Dick Campbell and Paul Hartley were the other names shortlisted for the award.

Ross County gaffer Mackay had led the Staggies to a surprise top six Premiership finish, while Hartley has sealed the League One title with Cove Rangers.

Arbroath boss Cambpebll narrowly missed out on the Championship title with the part-time side.
