Ange Postecoglou tells Celtic transfer detectives 'you're not on Mastermind' in irked Abildgaard and Ideguchi update

Boss Ange Postecoglou bristled at speculation over departing Celtic stars - insisting you don't have to be on Mastermind to work out who will leave the Scottish champions.

Deadline day arrivals appear unlikely at Celtic Park barring a late U-turn from Postecoglou, but the Australian boss admitted as many as five players could leave the Hoops before the window closes. Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis is closing in on a move to Atlanta United, trading the Scottish Premiership for the MLS but doesn't look to be the only player heading for the Parkhead exir door.

Oliver Abildgaard and Yosuke Ideguchi have barely featured in a matchday squad since the end of the World Cup break and could see their futures away from Glasgow's east end. Prospect Stephen Welsh also has options to leave the club on loan until the end of the campaign, while forgotten goalkeeper Connor Hazard is wanted by Ross County with midnight rapidly approaching.

Postecogou insists he is satisfied with the Celtic business so far, as he gave a run down of the potential movement before February 1. He said: 'We have brought in players to insulate if guys who haven't played a lot of football for us find other opportunities.

"We are comfortable with that but it has to suit all parties obviously. If that happens, I am really comfortable that we have brought in four good young players who will be contributors and beyond."

When pressed on the future of Abildgaard, who has been linked with a move to Aalborg, and Ideguchi, who could move to the J-League, an irked Postecoglou responded: "Well, they fit the definition of what I just said, yeah. I don't think you're really on mastermind and figured out some drips I am giving you.

"They definitely fit that, and like I said that is kind of where we are at just now. Anyone who has played football and has been a meaningful contributer won't be leaving in this window.

"Potentially the ones who leave are ones who haven't had a lot of regular game time. There are four or five in the squad, I am not going to talk about individuals."
