Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been spotted at Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday, watching the second test of the Ashes between England and Australia. The Australian coach is in London ahead of his first day in charge at Spurs, which begins tomorrow, Saturday, July 1.
That is when the contract of the 57-year-old begins, following his exit from Celtic, allowing him to begin the work that is ahead of him and his staff. Some of the groundwork is being done behind the scenes already as two signings have already been confirmed for the north London clubs.
Guglielmo Vicario was the first through the door as the goalkeeper signed from Empoli, hopeful of becoming the new number one, with Hugo Lloris stating his desire for a new challenge elsewhere. Then there was the excitement that came with the arrival of James Maddison.
The attacking midfielder joins Spurs in a deal worth £40million from Leicester City, adding some much-needed creative prowess to the central ranks. That is unlikely to be the end of the business this summer, with a host of incomings and outgoings expected over the next few weeks.

Pre-season is also on the horizon as the new head coach prepares his side to play a different style of football going into the next campaign. With that all coming very soon, Postecoglou may be looking to enjoy every moment he has spare before the hard work truly begins.
Some of that has been spent at the cricket, with the boss watching the second test of the Ashes, where Australia currently hold a 1-0 series lead.
