Ange Postecoglou savours Celtic demolition of Dundee United and sends ominous 'scoreboard' message

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says the scoreboard was not going to dictate how much pain they inflicted upon Dundee United.

The Hoops made it five wins from five in this season's Premiership with an incredible 9-0 victory over the Tangerines in their own backyard. A first half Kyogo Furuhashi hat-trick set the scene for a mauling and they weren't done with Jack Ross' men there, Jota scoring a fourth before half-time.

Liel Abada then decided to net a hat-trick of his own before Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt finished off the demolition job. Two shots were cleared off the line in pursuit of an unbelievable 10th Celtic goal but Postecoglou says that wasn't controlling their thoughts, rather their relentless pursuit of goals no matter the score. He told Sportsound: "The boys were great. The quality of our goals was outstanding, our general play was really good.

"Our defensive work was good too. We have to be [ruthless]. That's the part of the kind of football team we want to be.

"Our intent is to keep going and not let the scoreboard or the circumstances dictate how we go about things. The boys were disciplined today.

"We knew Dundee United were going through a rough spell and they were probably a bit vulnerable today. We got on top of them early which allowed us to play our football."
