Ange Postecoglou's hilarious Celtic selection tactics as he admits to avoiding part of Hoops job

Ange Postecoglou says he leaves his players in the dark over selection as his side booked a return to Hampden with a 4-0 Premier Sports Cup quarter-final win against Motherwell.

The Hoops boss was delighted as his side made persistence in front of goal count against the Steelmen in their last eight tie. Liel Abada grabbed a brace, the first of which deflated a 'Well side looking to hold on until half-time. Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi also scored as they joined Kilmarnock in Mount Florida next year.

He dropped James Forrest off the back of a hat-trick and Giorgios Giakoumakis' double against Hibs on Saturday, and Postecoglou admits shirking some conversations on why. He jokingly said: "It's not difficult (to tell players they're on the bench), I just avoid it. It's an easy discussion. I just put the team up and then I walk away. They have all embraced that.

"They understand that as we saw last year what happens when you put the burden on very few and you pick up injuries.

"If James had played tonight alongside Giakoumakis there is no chance they would then play the next Saturday. If we are going to be successful playing this football, everyone has a role to play.

"I am looking forward to the semi-final. It will be a great day for our supporters. It is something special and it's for a chance to get to another final."
