Ice-cool Ange Postecoglou has brushed off the latest round of speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.
The Celtic manager's impressive work in Glasgow has led to the inevitable rumours that one day he will up sticks and depart for the glitz and glamour of England's lucrative top-flight. And while all good things do come to an end, Postecoglou has been insistent his work at Celtic has a long way to go yet.
That doesn't always stop the hype train, however, and one pundit earlier this week put the Aussie forward as a potential successor to Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. But Postecoglou is keen to keep things in the here and now, which at the moment is a Premiership clash with Motherwell on Saturday. He did point out that he's been dealing with fevered discussion regarding his future since near day-one at the club - only then it centred on how long he would keep his job for.
The Parkhead boss, who has since won the Premiership title and the Premier Sports Cup, said: "It's fair to say speculation about my future has been with me from day one - for different reasons! Look, I don't worry about that stuff, it doesn't enter my brain space.
"I take on every job and challenge I have to try and make the football club as successful as it possibly can be, that's always been my total focus. If I start thinking about speculation that's there now about me moving on to I don't know where, then I would've been worried about it at the start when people were saying I wouldn't last too long.
"I talk to the players about living in the moment. The present is the most important time - the past you can't change, the future you can't control. What you do now is going to be the most important thing to whatever your ambitions may be, in a professional or personal sense.
"If I don't do my job well now, there's no point thinking about speculation because the future would take care of itself - I won't be in a job, I won't be able to accomplish the things I want to do. That's always been my focus and that'll always continue to be my focus, it's served me well and that's what I'll continue to concentrate on."
It was put to Postecoglou he's in a rather unique position of being able to lose his first league game in over a year and be linked with top jobs in the Premier League. And he replied: "Very true, very true! You understand it and people, particularly in today's world, get antsy very quickly - they don't like to be settled and want to know what's next.
"We want to watch our favourite series all in one night, we don't want to wait week-to-week, that's the life we live these days. I'm still a little old fashioned - I'll wait for the weekly episode before I watch my next series, mate."
