Ange Postecoglou responds to Celtic record breakers poser as boss insists squad 'haven't looked'

Ange Postecoglou insists his Celtic players aren't thinking about breaking records for the club this season.

Postecoglou's men sit on the verge of history as, if results continue in their rich vein of form, the Hoops can break their own records for most wins in a season and the most number of points in a campaign. It was a trait of Brendan Rodgers' invincible Celtic team to year-on-year beat historic records with Postecoglou's men suffering only one defeat to St Mirren and one draw with Rangers this season.

But there are still seven games left before the Parkhead side can get their hands on the Scottish Premiership again, with the potential of a domestic treble seemingly having Postecoglou unfazed. He gave his measured response when quizzed on the ability to make this campaign a historic one.

He told Sky Sports: "That's the thing. We haven't even looked at it. That's been the key to us sustaining our level of performance which has been followed by the consistency of results.

"I'm sure if you asked the players very few of them would even be aware of those kind of things. They know that come the weekend what will be important is to perform to the best of their ability.

"It's not easy sometimes here in Scotland, in Glasgow to keep your head down and stay focused on what's ahead. But this group has done that."
