Ange Postecoglou relishes Rangers 'big consequences' as Celtic boss seeks Ibrox solution

Excited Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou admits he is relishing a "great challenge" when he takes his league leaders to Ibrox next week.

Champions Rangers are three points adrift and a victory for the away side will put them six points clear and on course for Premiership title glory.

Celtic are buoyed by their fearsome domestic run since September which includes a thumping 3-0 win over their great rivals on home turf on February 2

And Postecoglou is excited about the "big consequences" that lie in wait when he takes his side across the city for a High Noon showdown in Govan next Sunday.

Speaking to Celtic TV, he said: "It's a great challenge for us.

"I think the first game there we didn't get the result we wanted but I thought our performance wasn't too bad, it was a pretty tight game.

"There wasn't a lot of chances for either side, they took theirs.

"We had a couple we didn't take, there is no doubt it's going to be a great occasion, you wan't to go into these games, firstly, in good form, which we are.

"And secondly knowing there's big consequences to the outcome, It's a great position for us to be in, I know the players will be looking forward to it."

The Parkhead boss was jubilant after the win over their rivals in February but he is acutely aware that the looming tussle might take on a different dynamic.

But he insists his players will follow the principles which have fired them top in recent weeks as they seek a signature win at Ibrox.

He added: "It just depends on how the game goes.

"We definitely want to bring the same type of energy and intensity, we try and do that home and away.

"I think a key to the position we're in is because away from home we're still taking the game to the opposition and we are still being really aggressive with our approach, which I think has helped us win a lot of games away from home.

"So that won't change, but you just don't know what the opposition will bring, for us, we've been really good at overcoming the challenges before us.

"Whatever that might be in that game, hopefully within our football we can find the solution."
