Ange Postecoglou on Chelsea shortlist as Celtic boss named Todd Boehly's 'outsider' after Nagelsmann KO

Chelsea have reportedly included Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou on a shortlist of candidates to take over at the end of the campaign.

Owner Todd Boehly is weighing up his options for a fresh start next season after ploughing in a whopping £600million since taking over the club, and is currently on his third boss of the season with Frank Lampard in interim charge until the end of the current English Premier League campaign. The American owner ditched Champions League winning boss Thomas Tuchel before turning to Graham Potter, before bringing back Chelsea legend Lampard.

Lampard is yet to win a game since his return to the club, and Boehly looks set to appoint another boss at the end of the season - with a report in The Guardian naming Postecoglou as an "outsider" for the hot seat. The club is said to be considering offering the job to former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However, the Celtic boss is a "surprise" inclusion on the shortlist of candidates after former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann pulled out of the running. Burnley boss Vincent Kompany and Feyernoord’s Arne Slot are also on the list of potential bosses.

The Australian has been touted for several Premier League jobs after he performed a major overhaul of the Parkhead squad in his debut campaign and led the club to a double in his debut campaign. He is on course to keep the Scottish Premiership title at Celtic Park this term and is on course for a domestic Treble.
