Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou insists he will not be rushed in the search for quality ahead of the new season.
The 56-year-old insists Edouard Michut and Aaron Mooy will not be heading to Parkhead as he poured cold water over moves for the midfield pair. The Premiership champions have signed Ben Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei, as well as securing loan trio Daizen Maeda, Jota and Cameron Carter Vickers.
Supporters have been buoyed by the £17.5m outlay and Postecoglou is seeking added quality ahead of a return to the Champions League for the first time in five years. But the Australian insists the pursuit of new arrivals will go at his pace as he seeks the right profile to make an impact in Glasgow's east end. Postecoglou watched on as Celtic outclassed Centurions Banik Ostrava at their own birthday party as Kyogo, Matt O'Riley, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Liel Abada found the net.
Speaking after the comprehensive 4-2 win in the Czech Republic, he said: “In terms of us, we have got a plan that we are sticking to and so far I am pretty happy with the progress we are making on all fronts and hopefully there will be some news coming out before the season starts. We are going through the process and making sure we get the ones that we need.
“I’m sure over the next couple of weeks I’ll have discussions with players who potentially are facing a future elsewhere and we’ll make decisions on that.
“We are still working away in the background. We know what we need. We are working with some targets we have, but we are in no rush to get it done. There is nothing, in terms of players we are being linked to at the moment, that’s going to happen in the near future. Or at all, in some of the cases.”
