Ange Postecoglou labelled 'Celtic Rangers' boss as Australian team name gaffe sparks fan hilarity

Ange Postecoglou has been unveiled as the new manager of "Celtic Rangers" as the Australian Sports Institute got it all mixed up in a social media post.

Hoops boss Postecoglou is a hero in his homeland and has been spending some time Down Under during the World Cup break. He took his players down for the Sydney Super Cup and stayed behind to do some media duties, giving a talk to some budding coaches at the prominent Australian Institute of Sports.

They celebrated his recent guest appearance with a social media post on Tuesday night showing the Celtic gaffer posing with the attendees. But the caption of the snap caught the eye of some fans as it got a few things twisted. It reads: "The AIS National Generation 2032 Coaches were treated to a private learning session with Ange Postecoglou in Sydney recently.

So far so good, right? Well...

"Now at the helm of Scottish Premier club Celtic Rangers , the former Socceroos coach took time out between Sydney Super Cup matches to meet with coaches from both the National Generation 2032 Program and NSWIS."

It appears the Aussie institute think there's only one team in Glasgow with famous rivals Celtic and Rangers lumped into a single club. Yeah, that's a merger that would go down well.

It's also "Scottish Premiership," folks, but we'll let you off with that one...
