Ange Postecoglou is a Celtic one trick pony and he's trailblazing but not in the way Chris Sutton thinks - Hotline

Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton may want Ange Postecoglou crowned Manager of the Year already but the Hotline was having none of it.

There was a general consensus that the Celtic boss is still a Premiership title away from gaining personal plaudits of his own.

Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: "I had to laugh at Sutton’s comments saying that Ange has done enough already to get the manager of the year award. Ange is a one trick pony, how long was he in Europe?"

Andy Adams, Kirkcaldy, said: "Sutton really does talk some absolute rubbish, how can Ange win manager of the year if Rangers win the league? The votes are in before the Scottish Cup Final, so you can't expect to win it because you won the League Cup, he even says he's not being biased. Silly me, of course he's not."

Ian Strang, emailed: "I had to laugh at Sutton's statement about handing Postecoglou the Manager of the Year award now.

"You don't win these awards for getting knocked out of three European competitions in one season."

Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: "Rangers are being given more penalties than Celtic every season even when we are top of the table and it needs to be looked into at the highest level.

"The amount of fouls given against us for a nothing challenge is very suspect and is shown by our foul to card ratio. Rangers will get a penalty for the Ryan Kent flick kick trick on Sunday and that is a fact."

Colin Hall, Carrickfergus, said: "What exactly does Hotline regular Mr Ashley not understand about the Australian issue for Rangers?

"Does he not realise that we want absolutely nothing to do with the idea. I've yet to read a positive comment he has made concerning his own team, he's only ever dissing the Light Blues."

Stuart Pearson, emailed: "Once again we have Mr Ashley coming out with more nonsense as he now claims Rangers fans are raging at the prospect of the Old Firm game in Australia. It must be time to change the script mate, save yourself further embarrassment."

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "Oh dear Mr Ashley, how the mighty have fallen. Celtic fans are boasting about being the supposed headline Act in a four team tournament. Two Aussie league sides and Rangers reserves are the competitors and I have eaten two bitter lemons and had a carton of grapefruit juice and still cannot stop laughing."

Alan Gray, Burnside, said: "Mr Ashley needs to open his eyes, ears and mind. Most Rangers fans aren’t bothered about playing second fiddle to Celtic in Australia. We don’t want associated with Celtic and friendlies."

Joe Sneddon, emailed: "Celtic have always been a rent-a-club . Always available for festivals, testimonials and I am sure if Asda were opening a new store somewhere in the world they would turn up to the opening. They are nowhere to be seen in Europe but always available for rent at the right price."

Alfie Mullin, London, said: "Why do Celtic fans insist on banging on about winning a trophy which was won before most of their fans were even born? They're as bad as England fans."

James Forsyth, Bellshill, said: "It was great to see the foreign stars play in the Rangers Legends game as it was such a good event.

"I think since it was to celebrate 150 years of the club, there should have been a parade of former players through the years and made it more inclusive.

Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, said: "Ian McCall is in a prickly position at Partick Thistle and it may be time to call last orders on his time as manager unless he can put them on a winning streak."

And finally a big well done to League Two champions Kelty Hearts.

William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: "Let's put all the usual bickering from both sets of the Old Firm to one side and give a big congratulations to Kelty Hearts for being the first team to win their league by a massive 16 points. To go from non-league to League One is absolutely brilliant, well done to everyone at the club."
