Ange Postecoglou 'informs' Celtic he wants to leave for Tottenham as champions 'begin' replacement hunt

Ange Postecoglou has told Celtic he wants to leave as he gets set for a formal approach from Tottenham.

The Aussie clinched a domestic Treble with the Premiership champions on Saturday with a 3-1 Scottish Cup final victory over Inverness, but is now poised to move for a shot at England's Premier League. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy looks set to make his move for him on Monday and now, according to the Daily Mail, 'has informed Celtic that he wants to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur.'

There is a debrief meeting for the football department staff scheduled for today as well, talking over a trophy-laden season. But it is claimed 'Postecoglou will not now attend.' That sets the stage for Spurs to try and wrap up a deal once permission is granted and final discussions can take place. There might be a slight element of time pressure, however.

The 57-year-old and his family are 'scheduled to go on holiday with his family tomorrow (Tuesday).' His soon-to-be former club 'will now begin the task of compiling a list of candidates to be the next manager.'
