Ange Postecoglou in smirking Celtic transfer address as Josip Juranovic poser sparks 'if it stops snowing' analogy

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has shrugged off transfer talk over the future of Josip Juranovic - as he equated talk of a move to dealing with the Scottish weather.

The full-back has been among Croatia's stand-out performers during the World Cup in Qatar, playing a key role in helping his side reach the semi-finals and seal a memorable victory over Brazil before Lionel Messi's Argentina ended his dream of lifting the trophy. The Celtic star will sit out the third place playoff against Morocco due to injury and will miss the return of Scottish Premiership action for the league leaders against Aberdeen.

His form in the Middle East has ramped up speculation that a move could be imminent for the 27-year-old, with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Torino credited with an interest after talks over a new Parkhead contract stalled. However, Postecoglou refused to entertain the transfer chatter as he shifted focus to the snowfall in Glasgow.

Ahead of facing Dons, Postecoglou was asked: "If big offers were to come in for him (Josip Juranovic) in the January window, would the club look at them?" But the Celtic boss didn't appear keen to discuss the post World Cup future of the full-back.

He shrugged: "Look, it's great he's getting noticed and that is what you want. I want our players getting noticed; if they weren't getting noticed they wouldn't be doing well.

"He's done well and he's represented his country fantastically well and our football club. Aside from that mate, everything else; you started it with an if and I will give you an if back.

"If it stops snowing outside I'll be able to drive home without getting out of my car. That will be fine too."
