Ange Postecoglou in Celtic 'we have no ceiling' roar as he provides Giorgos Giakoumakis injury update

Ange Postecoglou insists there's no limit to what Celtic can achieve after they blew St Johnstone away.

The Parkhead side raced nine points clear of Rangers at the Premiership summit as they walloped Saints 7-0 with a near-perfect performance.

Goals from Reo Hatate, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Daizen Maeda, Josip Juranovic, Liel Abada and a double from Matt O'Riley sent the leaders flying over another hurdle in their quest to regain the league title.

And their manager's message afterwards is that the sky's the limit for his team.

Asked if his players had exceeded his expectations this term, Postecoglou told BBC Sportsound: "No, that'd be disappointing on my part if we'd exceeded my expectations. I don't have a ceiling on what we can do and who we can be.

"I keep saying that to the players, whatever our performance is we want to improve on it the next week.

"That's what we've been doing all year. We've built into the year, we've been very consistent for a really long time.

"At the moment, our football is at the place it should be for all the hard work the boys have done.

"We've got a cup game next week then five league games and we want to play the best football we can.

The only negative from a stunning performance was a first-half injury to Giakoumakis, who limped off shortly after notching Celtic 's second.

The long-awaited return of Kyogo Furuhashi will soften any blow that may follow the Greek striker's assessment, not least with Rangers in the Scottish Cup awaiting next week, but the problem is a concern for Postecoglou.

He revealed Giakoumakis didn't think the issue was serious but admits it's a waiting game for now.

"I'm not really sure at the moment. He didn't think it was too bad but he did feel something so obviously it's always a concern when players do that.

"He's had an enormous load the last few weeks carrying that front line, so it's unfortunate for him.

"We'll wait and see but I'm hoping he'll still be available for us in the run-in."
