Ange Postecoglou details Celtic clean bill of health ahead of St Mirren game

Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Celtic have no fresh injury concerns heading into their game with St Mirren this weekend.

The Hoops manager insists all of his players, apart from Benjamin Siegrist, are fit and available for the game after coming through last week's Viaplay Cup final with Rangers unscathed.

There was a positive update on Siegrist though, with Postecoglou admitting the Swiss goalkeeper should be ready to return to full first-team training as of next week.

Asked for a fitness update on his squad, he responded: "It'll be pretty quick, everyone is good. We've no issues from last weekend and everyone is fit and available apart from Benji Siegrist. We expect him to join full training on Monday, but everyone else is ready to go."

With Celtic's latest cup success occurring last weekend, it was some of Postecoglou's players' first taste of silverware at the club.

The question was posed to the Australian about how much of a positive impact this would have on such members of the squad.

He said: "I guess it's important and significant but I don't think just because you've won something before it diminishes the impact that it can have to win it again.

"I think for the whole group, irrespective of who was there first - I don't know how many Callum (McGregor) has got - but whatever that number is, they finished that game with a real drive and desire to do it again.

"It should fuel everybody. I don't think it matters whether it's your first time up there, you should be more motivated and get more belief out of it.

"You want to be there and be at your best. You want to make sure that in every big game of consequence that you come out as a winner. I think the whole group will have gained a great deal from that game."
