Ange Postecoglou confirms triple Tottenham injury scare after beating Manchester United

Ange Postecoglou has allayed injury fears over Heung-min, Rodrigo Bentancur and Kevin Danso after the Tottenham trio limped off during the 1-0 win over Manchester United.

All three players started and were substituted late on in the match as Spurs won their first home win in the league since November.

While United boss Ruben Amorim had 12 first-team players missing for the contest, Postecoglou welcomed five of his own back as Tottenham’s own injury crisis finally begins to ease after an unprecedented two months.

While Postecoglou revealed new issues for Son, Bentancur and Danso, he is confident the minor knocks will not keep the trio out of next Saturday’s away match against Ipswich Town.

“He got a knock on his knee,” Postecoglou said, when asked why he substituted January signing Danso.

“Him, Sonny and Rodri all got sort of knocks. I don't think it is anything significant. But the beauty of it now is we can actually get them to recover instead of trying to patch them up and throw them out [onto the pitch] again [in] midweek.”

The Spurs head coach added: “I think from what I’ve heard, knocks all three of them but they should be fine.”

Speaking about the players who returned from injury to face United, he admitted: “It does make a massive difference. The fact we have them available, yeah, it's an enormous boost for us.”
