Ange Postecoglou has officially LEFT Celtic after joining Tottenham.
The 57-year-old had been a leading candidate for the top job at the English Premier League outfit for a number of weeks and Daniel Levy has now officially got his man as he confirms Antonio Conte's successor after a long search. The former Hoops gaffer will be a huge loss to the Scottish champions but the lure of joining the richest league in the world has proved too much to knock back.
He signed off from Celtic in the perfect style after completing a domestic Treble with a win over Scottish Championship outfit Inverness at Hampden in the Scottish Cup Final last weekend. Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada and Jota grabbed the goals to ensure a 3-1 success. It was a special moment with the famous old trophy the one that got away last season.

It means Postecoglu departs Parkhead having won five of six trophies available domestically during his time in charge. He also experienced Champions League football coming up against European heavyweights Real Madrid. He won't compete in Europe this season following Spurs' eighth place finish with the key task at hand to force a way back into that top four race to ensure a seat at the top table going forward and end that long wait for silverware.
He will officially join the club on July 1 after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal. His coaching staff will be announced in due course as he gets set to begin the next chapter of his career.
Daniel Levy, chairman of Spurs said: “Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our Club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead."
Celtic chief executive, Michael Nicholson said: “It has been a pleasure working with Ange, a great football manager and a good man. He has served the Club with such energy and determination and delivered a phenomenal level of success.
“I would like to thank him for all he has given us and I wish Ange and his family the very best for the future in everything they do.
“Of course, we wanted Ange to stay with us at Celtic and while there is real disappointment that we are losing him, he has decided he wants to look at a new challenge, which we respect.
“As Treble-winning champions, the Club looks ahead with confidence to the future, with many exciting opportunities ahead. The Club appreciates the tremendous support from Celtic fans this season and we will continue to build from this position of unity and strength.”
