Ange Postecoglou Celtic exit addressed as John Kennedy makes 'tied to a chair' quip amid Leeds link

John Kennedy insists Ange Postecoglou 'loves' being at Celtic amid speculation linking him to Leeds United.

The Celtic boss' immediate success in Glasgow has caused the English Premier League to be touted with the Australian as their next manager after Jesse Marsch was given his marching orders last week. Postecoglou was previously said to be a candidate for the Everton job before Sean Dyche moved in but the boss has often been clear about his long-term intentions at Parkhead.

And assistant boss Kennedy has echoed that sentiment as he was quizzed ahead of Saturday's Scottish Cup clash with St Mirren in Glasgow with Postecoglou not doing media duties this week. And the former defender quipped that the Australian is tied to a chair somewhere at Lennoxtown.

He told Sky Sports: "We've got him tied to a chair up the stairs with extra security at his door. There's always speculation, I think credit must be given to the manager in terms of the job he has done here. It's a bit like a player coming here and doing well - they get linked to other clubs.

"He [Postecoglou] has shown himself his abilities and when you have that success you attract attention. That's what has happened.

"Ultimately, there's a lot of speculation but that is what it is. There's a lot of noise but I know first hand the focus he has on the job in hand here. He loves being here and he's in the middle of building something very special.

"His mind is fully focused on being at Celtic and doing the best he can here."
