Ange Postecoglou Celtic 'always delivered on big days' message as he vows to avoid ICT major upset

Ange Postecogou is adamant his Celtic Treble chasers will be ready for Hampden.

The Hoops boss is looking to land a domestic clean sweep at the national stadium with Scottish Championship outfit Inverness standing in the way of lifting the famous old trophy. The Parkhead outfit are heavy favourites but the two clubs have history over the years with the underdogs picking up some scalps over the Scottish champions but Ange has vowed to ensure his name isn't added to that list in the showpiece.

Celtic tasted success in Mount Florida earlier this season with victory over Rangers while they also wrapped up the Scottish Premiership crown with numerous games to spare after a relentless campaign. The final step and a place in the history books is just potentially 90 minutes away for this crop who 'always deliver on big days'.

The Celtic boss said: "This group of players has always delivered on big days. They've done that consistently since round six [of the league] last year. You name me a game, apart from the Scottish Cup semi final last year, every other time it's been a big game of consequence, they've delivered.

"I'm not worried about them being complacent, irrespective of who we were facing in the cup final, it's the make up and character of this team that on a big day they will perform.

"It doesn't guarantee the result but there will be no sense of complacency in their mind. It's just not what this team is about."

Postecoglou has been strongly linked with Tottenham and reports claim talks over the vacant EPL post as early as next week.

But his full focus is on Inverness and Billy Dodds to ensure his name isn't added to the scalp list from over the years.

He added: He said: "That’s what is going to be on me for the rest of my career [if Celtic lose]. Irrespective of what happens to me next. I’m not going to let that happen.

"It’s not all in my power, obviously.

"But I’m going to make sure we are going to be absolutely well-prepared to deliver on the day.

"That story…there is a history with them and this football club and it has been mentioned to me numerous times. I was well aware of it anyway.

"It has destroyed managers’ careers, and I'm not going to let that happen, I’m just not."
