Ange Postecoglou can't resist Celtic 'agility' quip as he insists trophy chase is responsibility not desire

Ange Postecoglou hasn't ruled out more Celtic Park arrivals before the end of the window as he joked about being "agile" in the market.

The Hoops' boss spoke after his side stretched their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 12 point following a comfortable 2-0 against Kilmarnock at Parkhead. Jota fired the home side ahead just before half-time and an own goal from Ash Taylor after the break secured all three points. It leaves Killie with only two points on the road this season. Both teams will now look to next Saturday when they face one another at Hampden in the League Cup semi-final.

Following the match Postecoglou said it was his "responsibility" and not his "desire" to secure silverware at Celtic. Postecoglou also joked the club and not him that would be agile in the transfer market after they unveiled Japanese midfielder Tomoki Iwata at half-time.

Postecoglou, speaking in Sportsound, said: "You told us you were going to agile in this window, can the fans expect more business?"

The Aussie replied: "It might be confusing for people about me being agile, I think I meant the club. We'll see how it goes. We're glad to see Tomoki unveiled, he's going to be a real asset to us.

"Great guy, great trainer, great player and I think the boys will enjoy having him in the group. We're still in the first week of January so we'll see what happens." He was also asked about his desire to reach another domestic final, he replied: "Nothing to do with my desire, it's got to do with my responsibility - that's this football. You start every season wanting to win every domestic trophy. It's not actually in the contract but it may as well be there.

"We're looking forward to it, it's gonna be a tough game a semi-final at Hampden it's going to be a special day. We need to make sure it's a successful day so we can get to another final."
