Ange Postecoglou can plot Tottenham future with Micky van de Ven and Castello Lukeba transfers

A number of Tottenham fans may be keeping tabs on the European Under-21 Championship at present with two of Ange Postecoglou's players in action. Oliver Skipp is one of those as he is part of Lee Carsley's England squad for the tournament in Romania and Georgia.

The midfielder has yet to make a start for the Three Lions in their two group games so far, instead having to settle for minutes off the bench in the wins over Czech Republic and Israel. The other Tottenham player in question is Destiny Udogie, who is representing Italy.

Yet to make an appearance for Spurs after immediately rejoining Udinese on loan following his permanent move to Tottenham last summer, the left-back will link up with Postecoglou and his squad very soon with pre-season training commencing in July. A tournament where a host of tomorrow's stars will be intent on making a big impression, a number of clubs could well make a move for those who wow at the Euros over the next week or so.

So are there any players Tottenham should be keeping an eye on as they look to make their mark in the transfer market? football.london takes a look below.

Micky van de Ven (Netherlands)

Club: Wolfsburg

Transfer value: £26million (Transfermarkt)

Wolfsburg defender Van de Ven has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent days as they look to strengthen at the heart of defence this summer. Joining the German side from Volendam in 2021, the youngster was a regular for Wolfsburg last season having started 33 of their 34 league games.

A player who ticks many boxes for Spurs as he is left footed, fast and and one for the future given his age, Van de Ven could be a major hit in the Premier League if signed this summer. Spurs will not have it all their own way if they move for the Dutchman as Liverpool have also been linked with the centre-back.

Giorgio Scalvini (Italy)

Club: Atalanta

Transfer value: £34million

Given Fabio Paratici's previous role at the club, Tottenham will undoubtedly be aware of Atalanta centre-back Scalvini. Getting a good run in the team towards the end of the 2021/22 season, the 19-year-old really stepped it up last campaign as he became a regular in the side after making 29 league starts.

Already an Italy international with four caps to his name for Roberto Mancini's side, the right-footed centre-back has a very bright future in the game. Both Manchester United and Man City have been linked with a move for the highly-rated player this summer.

Castello Lukeba (France)

Club: Lyon

Transfer value: £17million

Sticking with the centre-backs Tottenham should be keeping an eye on at the Euros, France defender Lukeba is a player that would suit Spurs down to the ground. Forcing his way into the Lyon backline midway through the 2021/22 season, the 20-year-old has not relinquished his position at all and made 38 appearances in all competitions last term.

Needing a left-footed centre-back at present who is good on the ball and has an eye for a pass, Lukeba ticks all of those boxes. Subject of a bid from Chelsea last summer, Manchester United and RB Leipzig have also been linked with a move for the talented defender.

Ryan Gravenberch (Netherlands)

Club: Bayern Munich

Transfer value: £26million

Gravenberch could possibly find himself on the move this summer due to a lack of minutes following his switch to Bayern Munich 12 months ago. The Dutch ace will not be short of options if he is to be given the green light to exit the Allianz Arena, with Liverpool tipped to sign the youngster.

The 21-year-old already has a wealth of experience to his name despite his tender years and his versatility in the midfield role would help Postecoglou out. Someone who is more than capable of operating as a No.8 for Spurs' new manager, Gravenberch is also adept at dropping back to receive the ball and get it moving forward from the No.6 position with his progressive passing,

Morgan Gibbs-White (England)

Club: Nottingham Forest

Transfer value: £34million

Gibbs-White played a starring role for Nottingham Forest last season after helping the East Midlands club retain their place in the Premier League. Amid question marks over his move to the City Ground for a substantial fee, the ex-Wolves man contributed for Steve Cooper's men with five goals and eight assists.

The 23-year-old has continued his excellent form in the final third for England under-21s at the Euros after creating both of the Three Lions' goals in their 2-0 win over Israel. Mainly operating as an attacking midfielder for Forest last term, Gibbs-White has played in a variety of different attacking roles throughout his career and his homegrown status would also be another bonus for Tottenham.

Gabri Veiga (Spain)

Club: Celta Vigo

Transfer value: £26million

Another midfielder who has earned rave reviews over the past year is Celta Vigo ace Veiga. Spending time in both central and attacking midfield last season, the Spaniard has come to the attention of many after chipping in with 11 goals and four assists in 40 games for Celta.

Veiga looks destined for big things in the future, with Liverpool tipped to make a move for him ahead of the new season. The youngster has a €40million (£34million) release clause in his contract and it probably will not be long at all until he is playing his football elsewhere.
