Celtic will have to fight it out with European clubs to land top talent Andy Rojas after his club revealed they have already received an offer from a Portuguese side.
The Hoops were linked with a £900,000 move for the 18-year-old forward who has already become an important player for Costa Rica.
However, his homeland club Herediano have revealed they are expecting plenty of interest in their star man.
And the club's vice-president has also bizarrely claimed they want a fee of £4 million...because of a transfer that happened 27 years ago.
Asked directly about Celtic's interest in his homeland, Aquil Ali said: "At the moment, the only proposal we have received is an offer from Portugal that we are reviewing.
"We are also obviously waiting for Andy to return after the Copa America has finished.
"There is interest and we are waiting. Many clubs make their moves after the Copa América and so we are going to wait.
"Several clubs from Spain, Portugal and Belgium have asked too, as well as from the MLS, although we would prefer the footballer to go to Europe.
"It's not about disparaging MLS or anything like that, but we want to try to get Andy Rojas into Europe and have a sell-on clause in case of a second sale.
"We are looking for a league similar to the ones in Belgium and Portugal and then he can make the jump to a stronger one."

And Ali reckons Rojas should be worth a lot more than the current market valuation because former Costa Rica superkid Froylan Ledezma moved to Ajax for £4 million at the age of 17, although that was in 1997.
He pointed out: "Many years ago, Froylan Ledezma was a similar top prospect at almost the same age.
"He went for £4 million back then so we are also going for those numbers for Andy Rojas."
