Liverpool defender Andy Robertson says he's a 'big believer' that teams get what they deserve over the course of the season - as rivals Everton fight for Premier League survival.
Robertson opened the scoring as the Reds ensured they kept on table-topping Manchester City's toes with a crucial 2-0 win in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Sunday.
But for Everton it's a far more bleak situation. They slipped into the relegation places before the game after Burnley beat Wolves 1-0 at Turf Moor and their second defeat of the season to Liverpool means they remain two points clear of safety.

Robertson says Everton are in a 'dogfight' at the bottom of the table but has backed them to bounce back should the worst happen in May.
He told BBC Sport : "The derby is a big game. For fans especially they always look to see when the derbies are. The fans would miss it most. I'm a big believer that in a 38-game season you get what you deserve. Let’s see.
"They’re in a dogfight. Burnley won today. They’re fighting. Everton need to win games to stay up. If they do we'll look forward to more derbies and if they don’t they'll have to deal with it more than us and I’m sure they’ll bounce back."
It certainly wasn't a comfortable afternoon for Jurgen Klopp's side as they went in at half-time unable to break down Everton's low block. But substitutes Luis Diaz and Divock Origi changed the game when they took to the field on the hour mark with the latter playing his part in Robertson's opener before scoring the killer second.
Robertson insisted patience was key for the Reds. He told Sky Sports: "We had to focus on our own game. We had to play football, we had to be patient, create chances and luckily we managed it. I think second half we controlled the game a lot better."
