Andy Robertson is hopeful his injury problems are behind him after admitting he had "to be careful" over how he handled his recovery from a knee issue over the last month.
The Scotland captain picked up the injury in the closing stages of the 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League on September 7 and missed four games in total before returning as a second-half substitute in Wednesday night's 7-1 hammering of Rangers at Ibrox.
Kostas Tsimikas has deputised in Robertson's absence but the first-choice full-back is vying for a recall when Manchester City visit Anfield on Sunday afternoon and the Scot admits it was a difficult few weeks for him on the sidelines.

"Look it's been five weeks, it's not too long for the outside world but for someone who is not used to being out injured it is a long, long time," Robertson said. "It was important to take time and let the injury heal and then it was about the rehab and trying to get back as quickly as I can. That's always the way.
"I am not a very good patient, I wanted to get out of the treatment room as quickly as possible but I had to be careful with this one and I am just glad to be back to fitness, hopefully that's all behind me now."
Liverpool will welcome City to Anfield this weekend with increased confidence after the second-half blitz of Rangers in Glasgow and Robertson believes the victory in Scotland can be the turning point in the campaign after such a frustrating opening couple of months at Anfield.
He added: "Sunday is a massive game, of course it is. We need to try and get consistency back into our performances, back into our game. And that is what we've been lacking this season and it always has to start somewhere. So today was a very good result but the result was excellent. We have to keep that going, we have to keep up the intensity and then we'll pick up a few more results.
"The game against Manchester City this weekend will always be difficult, they're a fantastic side and they are flying at the minute. It will be difficult to play against them but us at our best we can always compete. Anything below that and it will be a difficult afternoon. But if we're at our best then we know we can cause problems to any team and that is what we have to aim for.
"It was an exceptional result and a big result for us. The boys were magnificent after a bit of a ropey start, obviously giving Rangers the lead and the fans obviously got up. We managed to quiet them down quickly with the equaliser and then after that I thought we dominated and really controlled the game."
After Darwin Nunez had added to Roberto Firmino's brace to make it 3-1, Mohamed Salah arrived off the bench to plunder the quickest hat-trick in Champions League history in just six minutes and 12 seconds before Harvey Elliott added the seventh late on.
"That's what he can do!" Robertson said of Salah. "You give Mo chances and he will score goals. So that will give him loads of confidence from that. He's a fantastic, unbelievable player. Obviously he came on and wanted to get his name on the scoresheet. Luckily he's managed to get three. Hopefully that will give him confidence and hopefully there's a lot more goals to come from him.
"I thought in the first half they were brave and gave us more problems than last week and had a lot of attacking players on the pitch but when we play with that intensity it's hard to deal with us and I think we out-ran them. We then started controlling the game and controlling possession and when that happens we're a very hard team to play against.
"I think we showed that and we also showed our ruthless side as well. Every chance we got we put away. Obviously it's a massive result for us and puts us in a great place in the group so now we try to build on it."
