Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has expressed his desire to win more trophies with Liverpool next season, and is prepared to put in the hard work to achieve it.
The Scotland captain is part of the 37-man squad that is currently touring the Far East as part of Liverpool's preseason preparations. The Reds will face Crystal Palace in Singapore on Friday afternoon and in the build-up to the match Robertson spoke to the assembled media about his hopes for the new season, after winning both the League and FA Cup last season but narrowly missing out on the Premier League and Champions League.
He said: "When you play with this club there's always expectations on you, it's what we have to deal with. We've always had to do that. We have expectations of ourselves. We want to be the best versions individually and the best versions as a team. I think last season in large parts we showed that. Obviously the end of the season didn't go the way we wanted it to but I think after time we can look back on it [with] a lot of fond memories from last season and it also drives us forward for next season.

"We want the feeling of lifting trophies. We had it twice last season and two really good days out at Wembley and we want that feeling again. We know it takes a lot of hard work, we know it takes a lot of determination and everyone singing off the same hymn sheet effectively. If we do that, then we believe we are there or thereabouts because we've got a fantastic team when we're at our best.
"But we know as soon as we drop below that then we won't achieve what we want to achieve. That's what the plan is – to go for everything 100 per cent, like we've always done. If we do that, we believe that gives us the best possible chance to be successful."
The 28-year-old also shared some insight on his early dealings with new striker Darwin Nunez, who made his first appearance for the Reds in the 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday in Bangkok.
Robertson said: "He's tall! But, look, he has obviously come in, we haven't been back for too long, but we have to let him settle in. He's looked good in training, and the Brazilian boys and everyone that speaks his language have helped him a lot. I don't think me and him have had many conversations yet, we've just kind of smiled at each other, but that will come.
"A fantastic player, we played against him and he made it really difficult for us defenders in the two games and if he puts in those performances then he'll be a really good player for us."
After playing the match against Patrick Vieira's Eagles on Friday, the Liverpool squad will head to Germany, where they will face Red Bull Leipzig on July 21 , before completing their tour six days later in neighbouring Austria against Red Bull Salzburg.
