Andy Robertson appeared to take an ELBOW in the face from a linesman during Liverpool's clash with Arsenal at Anfield.
The Scotland skipper was involved in an altercation with official Constantine Hatzidakis at half-time as the Reds trailed 2-1 to the Premier League leaders. He was seen approaching the Greek official to confront him, who then moved an arm towards the left-back's face. Robertson was left stunned and pitchside reporter Geoff Shreeves noted he was left "apoplectic" by the bizarre incident.
He said: "When he came into the tunnel at half-time, Robertson was absolutely apoplectic. Stunned, even. He said 'he's just elbowed me in the throat.' Jordan Henderson was well aware of it and he led the remonstrations with Paul Tierney and after that, he got taken away. Extraordinary scenes."
Roy Keane though branded the Scot a "big baby" and said he should be more concerned with his performance. He said: "I've never seen anything like it. Does Robertson grab the linesman first? I'm not sure. But he is complaining....he's a big baby. He should be more worried about his defending."
A PMGOL statement on the incident reads: "PGMOL is aware of an incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at half-time during the Liverpool v Arsenal fixture at Anfield. We will review the matter in full once the game has concluded."
