Andy Robertson is on course to become a record breaker with the Liverpool star on course to become the Scot with the most assists in Premier League history.
The Scotland skipper matched ex national team captain and former Anfield star Gary McAllister’s current tally at the weekend.
Left wing back Robertson laid on two goals for former Celtic star Virgil van Dijk and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
And in doing so Robertson equalled McAllister’s assist tally of 47 which he racked up during his time at Leeds United, Coventry as well as Anfield.
Robertson has eight for the season and since the start of the 2017/18 campaign he is now joint second on 43 alongside team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Manchester City and Belgium playmaker Kevin De Bruyne leads the rankings on 52 from that period.
Liverpool’s win at Selhurst Park moved them to within nine points of leaders City but the Merseyside giants have a game in hand.
