Andy Reid Shares Message for Chiefs Players After Final Practice

As the Chiefs concluded their final practice ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl, Kansas City coach Andy Reid revealed his message to the team as the franchise looks to win its second championship in four seasons.

“Be themselves,” Reid said when asked by local media about his message to the team. “You don’t need to be any more or any less. Just go be yourself. That’s what it’s all about really, and that’s what they’ll do.”

After beating the Bengals in the AFC title game, the Chiefs reached their third Super Bowl in four seasons to continue their remarkable run under Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City won the Super Bowl against San Francisco in the 2019-20 season and lost the following year to Tom Brady and the Bucs. The Chiefs missed out on last year’s Super Bowl thanks to a loss to the Bengals, but got redemption on conference championship Sunday this year.

Kansas City and its league MVP Patrick Mahomes will have their hands full on Sunday against the NFC champion Eagles, powered by an electric offense with quarterback Jalen Hurts and a stout front seven on defense.

Sunday’s Super Bowl is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
