Andy Murray has been drawn against Tomas Machac in round one of Wimbledon.
The Scot - a two-time Wimbledon champion - is hopeful of competing on the grass next week after successful surgery on a spinal cyst.
Murray, 37, admitted earlier this week he is unlikely to compete in singles but remained hopeful of being in action in doubles competition - linking up with brother Jamie.
However, Murray will wait until the last minute to decide whether he is fit to compete and could yet face Czech Machac on Tuesday.
Due to being drawn in the opposite half to Carlos Alcaraz, if fit Murray will first play on Tuesday instead of Monday offering an extra day for recovery.
“Maybe it’s my ego getting in the way but I feel that I deserve the opportunity to give it until the very last moment to make that decision,” Murray said earlier this week.
“It’s complicated, and it’s made more complicated because I want to play at Wimbledon one more time.
“I would say it’s probably more likely that I’m not able to play singles right now.
“I spoke to my brother a couple of days ago in terms of the doubles to see if he wants to find someone else to play with, and I was obviously absolutely fine with that. But he also wants the opportunity to try to play. We’ll see how the next few days go.
“I certainly couldn’t be preparing for Wimbledon in a worse way. But maybe this is just how it was meant to happen for me.”
