Renowned trad musician, Andy Irvine has been reunited with his beloved instruments after they went missing a month ago.
The former Planxty member thanked everyone who had helped with the search after his guitar, bouzouki and mandola disappeared on a journey from Dublin to Denmark.
These instruments were made specifically for Irvine by Stefan Sobell and are worth over €16,000 . The musician had to borrow musical equipment while performing at the Skagen Folk Festival on June 29.

80-year-old Irvine said the safe return of his instruments has put a permanent smile back on his face. He tweeted: "To everybody who has helped me or shown concern about my missing instruments, I give my heartiest thanks.
"On Monday I got an email from SAS to tell me……THEY’D FOUND MY INSTRUMENTS!!! They were rushed to Dublin & delivered to my door yesterday evening!!
"I can’t tell you how it feels to have them back. I have a permanent smile on my face - and so do they. Thanks to Providence & all kind people who gave their time & energy!"
People were delighted to hear that the story had a happy ending.
One person said: "That's mighty Andy, delighted for you."
Another commented: "That is wonderful news, I am delighted for you - and them, to be coming home to you!"
A third wrote: "Wonderful news! Can't wait to hear them in action in November in Belfast."
