Manchester United icon Andy Cole has lavished praise on Cristiano Ronaldo after watching the forward equal his Premier League record for the club.
Ronaldo headed into the home visit of Brighton on a five-game goalless streak, his worst run since leaving United 13 years ago, but produced a moment of magic to open the scoring at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
It was his 804th career goal but also his 97th in the Premier League for United, moving level with Cole into fifth place on the all-time list.
“804 career goals? Terrible, absolutely terrible," Cole joked on Premier League Productions.
“It was the first time Manchester United put Brighton under pressure.
“You’d expect him to hit the target from there and he’s done that. We know he’s a special player.
“It’s incredible – to be playing at the highest level at 37 now and still scoring goals. The goals that he’s got. He’s done almost everything in his career.

“But to still have that hunger and desire – that tells you everything."
His opener set the Reds on their way to a valuable three points as Bruno Fernandes added a second late on to seal the win which saw United regain fourth spot in the table.
