Andrey Santos in London to complete £11m Chelsea transfer

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of talented youngster Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama. The Brazilian has been pictured in London celebrated the new year as he prepares to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.

Todd Boehly is expected to back Graham Potter with a number of new signings in the January transfer window. football.london understands that the Blues are in the market for a striker, central midfielder, centre-back and back up option to Reece James.

David Datro Fofana has already been signed by the Blues as the transfer window officially opens, although the Ivorian forward is expected to head out on loan until the end of the season. Boehly is continuing his trend of signing talented youngsters as he edges closer to securing a deal for Santos.

Santos was pictured celebrating Christmas with a Chelsea theme as all of his decorations were blue and white, hinting that a move was close. French outlet Le10 Sport wrote last month that Chelsea were set to agree a £15million deal for Santos, with the Blues moving swiftly to secure his signature before interest arrived from elsewhere.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues will pay a fixed fee of €12.5million (£11million) for Santos who is expected to complete a medical in the coming days after an agreement had been reached for his transfer. The wonderkid has featured at every junior level for Brazil and the likelihood is that he will feature for the senior team in the coming years.

Santos' arrival would follow the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, Gabriel Slonina and Fofana are Boehly continues to identify and sign talented youngsters from around the world as part of his long-term vision at Stamford Bridge.
