There’s a lot of positive energy currently surrounding the Washington Commanders. Whether it’s the impending sale, the re-signing of defensive tackle Daron Payne, or offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s hiring, there’s plenty of goodwill around the franchise right now.
New offensive tackle Andrew Wylie signed a three-year contract with the Commanders last week, following Bieniemy from Kansas City, and cited his former offensive coordinator as the reason he signed in Washington.
On Tuesday, Wylie joined Kay Adams on “Up & Adams” and continued to praise Bieniemy.
“He has this commanding energy about him,” Wylie said. “He truly takes control of the room, he commands respect when he talks, he’s very intense. He truly believes in what he’s preaching. And I feel like everybody in that room gets that sense right away.”
Adams then asked Wylie if he was surprised Bieniemy wasn’t a head coach.
“He definitely has some strong head coach qualities,” Wylie answered. “His future is on the upward path, no doubt. And I think what we’re about to do here in Washington, D.C., in the next three years is going to be something special.”

Several Washington players were present when Bieniemy was introduced to the media last month. And after the press conference, Bieniemy met with each of those players, which included quarterback Sam Howell and wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.
