A 31-year-old man will spend at least three decades behind bars for breaking into three houses in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and sexually assaulting the female occupants during a rampage described as "every woman's worst nightmare".

Andrew Travis Giles pleaded guilty to 30 charges, with District Court judge Carmel Barbagallo saying the lives of the three victims had been "turned upside down" by what she described as his "humiliating, degrading and violent behaviour".
Giles had been released from prison three weeks earlier when he committed the first attack in the early hours of August 1, 2022.
He smashed his way into the woman's home as she lay in her bedroom with her teenage son, who had gone to her after hearing noises.
Giles told the boy to go out of the bedroom and not to do anything, before he repeatedly sexually assaulted the woman who did what he said out of fear.
During the incident, Giles ordered the woman to repeatedly yell to her son not to take any action while she also told him she was OK.
After about 30 minutes, she was able to leave the bedroom and go to her son before the two of them managed to run out the front door and get help from a neighbour, who opened the door as the woman glimpsed Giles running out of her house.
He carried out the second attack just over an hour later, when Giles smashed a window to get into the home of 74-year-old woman, before trying to attack her.
He committed one sex act, before the woman managed to deter him from continuing by detailing her health problems.
Giles told her not to tell anyone what had happened, saying he would kill her if she did, before he fled.
Third victim stabbed, punched and kicked
The final attack happened again only about an hour later, when Giles forced his way into another home.
During the attack on that victim, he repeatedly punched and kicked her, stabbed her in the hand with a dart and grabbed her by the hair.
He then left through the front door but police arrested him about 6.30am.
Judge Barbagallo said Giles's offences had a devastating impact on the victims, including the teenage boy who was home when his mother was attacked.
She paid tribute to them, describing them as "brave and strong" in enduring such traumatic crimes.
Judge condemns 'life changing' offences
The court was told Giles's long criminal history included convictions for similar offences against other women, with Judge Barbagallo saying he had demonstrated he was a danger to women who live on their own.
"You, Mr Giles, are every woman's worst nightmare,"Judge Barbagallo said.
"It is offenders like you that undermine the peace of mind every woman is entitled to feel in their own home, whether she's at home on her own or not.
"There can be absolutely no doubt whatsoever that your offending is so serious, is so horrendous, is so grave that you are a serious danger in, and to the community and there absolutely nothing that would give anyone any confidence that you will not reoffend in a similar way anytime soon."
Judge Barbagallo said none of his three victims were now able to live in the homes where the attacks took place, saying the offences against them had been "life changing".
"You forced each of them to live out their worst nightmare, a traumatic event they will never forget and likely to always struggle to come to terms with," she said.
"You are an unstoppable force. No security screen, no closed or locked door, no closed or locked window, no security system was going to stop you."
She sentenced Giles to 32 years and three months jail, backdated it to the time of his arrest in August 2022.
He will have to serve 30 years before he is eligible for parole, when he will be be 61 years old.
