Andrew Tate tweets he has been attacked by ‘the Matrix’ after rumoured trip to hospital

Self-proclaimed misogynist and controversial influencer Andrew Tate may have been hospitalised amid his 30-day spell in a Romanian jail. Andrew, 36, and his brother Tristan, 34, were arrested last month in connection with an investigation into alleged human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group.

Local reports have suggested one of the brothers had been hospitalised, with many believing it to be Andrew following cryptic Tweets from his account.

The Romanian news article suggested that the hospital visit was triggered after a routine medical check up and that they have since returned to custody.

The Romanian news channel Antena 3 CNN, said one of the brothers reportedly told a medic about a pre-existing health issue before they were taken to a hospital in Bucharest.

A tweet posted to Tate’s account on Sunday said: "The Matrix has attacked me. But they misunderstand, you cannot kill an idea. Hard to Kill."

The tweet was posted alongside a screenshot and link to the Romanian article.

However, this is not the first time Andrew has referenced being attacked by “the Matrix”, as in his first message after the arrest, a tweet from his account read "The Matrix sent their agents", and after he was sentenced to a further 30 days he added that "The Matrix will only tell you what the Matrix needs you to believe."

Romanian anti-organized crime agency DIICOT said it identified six victims who were subjected to “acts of physical violence and mental coercion” and were sexually exploited by group members with one said to have been violently sexually assaulted in March.

The brothers have been accused of recruiting women on social media and persuading them to travel to their villa on the outskirts Bucharest, and according to Romanian investigators, women were forced to film pornographic videos in the compound while being kept under 24/7 house arrest.

Andrew and Tristan will also appeal against the seizure of their belongings, which includes 11 cars, in a court appearance next week.
