Andrew Cushin on 'insane' experience touring America with former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson

Newcastle singer Andrew Cushin has been winning over legions of American fans with his Geordie charm as joins former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson on his tour across the States.

The 23-year-old flew out to the US earlier this month and is traveling across the country to support Louis at more than 20 shows on his 'Faith in the Future' tour.

Major gigs in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles are still to come, however, Cushin has already been making waves with music fans in the US since taking to the stage in Chicago, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

Videos and photos shared on social media show thousands of fans singing every word of Cushin's songs back to him and with some even throwing flowers on stage.

The Heaton star's Instagram followers are also rapidly rising as his performances win over American hearts and now Cushin has told Chronicle Live how he is trying to soak up every moment of the 'insane' experience.

"This is insane - I’m taking songs I wrote in my bedroom and playing them to thousands of American fans," he said.

"I’m in total disbelief. I’ll be forever grateful to Louis and his team for this opportunity.

"I’m just trying to do the best I can, people are really seeming to be into the tunes which is insane. I just can’t wait for the next show.

"This is also the first time I’ve ever been to America! I’m trying my best to take it all in and meet as many people as I can.

"I’m really trying to make the most of this unbelievable experience."

The tour is yet another major career milestone for Cushin who burst into the limelight in 2020 with his debut single, ‘It’s Gonna Get Better.’ In just four years, the rising star has gone from playing covers in socials clubs across Newcastle to performing on the same stage as a global artist.

Last year Cushin released his debut EP 'You Don't Belong' after being signed to Peter Doherty's label, Strap Originals, and in November will headline Newcastle's City Hall in November as part of his 'Waiting for the Rain' UK and Ireland tour.
