Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has thanked the supporters who travelled to Australia to witness the Whites’ 2-1 pre-season win over Brisbane Roar on Thursday.
Radrizzani wrote on Twitter: ‘Thanks to our Aussi fans for the welcome and support during these first days with @LUFC at the #queenslandchampionshipcup #Brisbane’. He added: ‘Thank you Freemantle, near Perth, getting ready to welcome us @LUFC’.
Leeds travelled Down Under on Saturday to prepare for three pre-season friendlies in the space of eight days. They passed the first test with first half goals from Daniel James and Joe Gelhardt securing them a 2-1 victory.
Head coach Jesse Marsch got minutes into 22 of his players, and handed first starts to Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson , and debuts to Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams.
The Whites will conclude their pre-season tour of Australia with fixtures against Aston Villa (July 17) and Crystal Palace (July 22).
