Andrea Radrizzani's 'brazen' relegation statement mocked after Leeds United's Tottenham defeat

Andrea Radrizzani's 'brazen' relegation claim has been mocked by the Leeds United Supporters' Trust after the club's relegation was confirmed. Sam Allardyce's side fell to a dismal 4-1 home defeat to Tottenham on the final day, ending the Whites' three-year stay in the Premier League.

Harry Kane's double and strikes from Pedro Porro and Lucas Moura ensured the visitors eased to a comfortable victory, with Jack Harrison netting what proved to be a consolation goal. Relegation rivals Everton and Leicester CIty both picked up narrow victories, meaning the Foxes will join Leeds in the Championship next season.

The club's supporters' trust released an emotional statement on social media in the aftermath of the home loss, insisting blame lies with those 'in charge'. The trust lamented the loss of direction since the departure of Marcelo Bielsa, adding it is 'plain to see what has gone wrong'.

The statement released on social media read: "At the start of the season, Andrea Radrizzani brazenly dismissed the risk of a survival battle for Leeds United, claiming relegation was 'impossible'. Well Andrea, it all feels very possible right now.

"The responsibility of our relegation lies with the people in charge. In another long, frustrating, and depressing season, the club has either made the wrong decisions or taken too long to make the right ones, leading to poor and forced choices.

"We won't list the failures and shortcomings here - it's plain to see what has gone wrong. It feels like a lifetime ago since the standards of Marcelo Bielsa turned this club into something Leeds United fans could be proud of, and we are now, quite literally, back in the same place we were 5 years ago."
