Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani claims Bamba Dieng's proposed Elland Road transfer is 'part of the madness of deadline day.' The Whites owner tweeted that a move for the French forward was done with the club still working on a move for Cody Gakpo.
However, OGC Nice are now the favourites to sign Dieng, after the Ligue 1 side made a late approach. The 22-year-old was at the airport ahead of a move to Elland Road but has now changed his mind.
Leeds have not hidden their desire to bolster their attacking options, despite doing a lot of early transfer business. The club had been hoping to bring in a striker but now only have a few hours to bolster their ranks.

Radrizzani tweeted: "It s all good Ollie. Part of the madness of deadline day. We have been screwed up, it happens even to the best ones.
"We have done a great market, planned and executed our targets at very early stage. Keep going."
The Whites chairman previously responded to a tweet from the same fan, calling for supporters to back the team. He tweeted: "Lets welcome Bamba Dieng and we will continue to work on Gapko. Now it's time to focus on the pitch and support our new project and the great job Jesse and the staff are doing."
